Dafé Coffee Roaster is a micro-specialty roaster dedicated to sourcing high-quality beans directly from farmers and trusted distributors. Born from a years-long obsession with specialty coffee and caffeine, Dafé is built on the philosophy that coffee is more than a beverage; it is a medium for connection. Dafé focuses on bringing underrepresented coffee regions to the forefront. Central to the brand is a unique focus on design and storytelling, ensuring that every bag of coffee offers a narrative-driven experience.


The specialty coffee market is highly saturated, with a constant influx of new roasters. To stand out, I needed a strategy that went beyond high-quality roasting. I decided to differentiate Dafé through two primary pillars: sourcing and storytelling. By focusing on unique origins like Nepal and presenting them through a distinct design language both in print and on the web, I created an original brand narrative that resonates with a design-conscious audience.


I designed Dafé as a unified ecosystem where the storytelling flows seamlessly from the digital screen to the physical product. The journey starts on the web with a cinematic, 3D experience that replaces the traditional e-commerce grid, translating technical data like elevation and topography into an interactive interface that builds anticipation.
This narrative is physically completed through packaging that serves as a tangible storytelling device. Each box mirrors the digital experience by using colors inspired by the Himalayan Monal and precise map coordinates to the farm of origin. By aligning the visual language across both platforms, I created a consistent brand loop that transforms a standard transaction into a premium, narrative-driven experience.




Dafé Coffee Roasters successfully transformed from a personal passion project into a distinct, design-forward brand. By treating design as a core ingredient of the product, I was able to build a loyal community of coffee enthusiasts who value both the quality of the roast and the story behind it.
